Arvest Bank Adds Schoenthaler to Board of Directors

Arvest Bank is pleased to announce Marty Schoenthaler has joined its local board of directors in Bartlesville.

Schoenthaler currently serves as CEO of Tate Boys Tire & Service. His previous professional roles included serving as vice president and chief information officer at Archer Daniels Midland, as well as senior leadership positions with ConocoPhillips and IBM.

“We are thrilled to add Marty to our board here in Bartlesville,” Arvest president Kyle Hubbard said. “In addition to his business acumen, his many ties – and years of service – to our community will be an invaluable asset for us here at Arvest. We couldn’t be more excited to have him join our team in this capacity.”

Schoenthaler also currently is a board member for both the Bartlesville Sports Commission and the Rogers State University Foundation. He earned bachelor’s degrees in business administration and computer programming at Missouri Southern State University, then a master’s degree in business administration at the University of Arkansas.

Schoenthaler and his wife, Kim, have been married 33 years and most enjoy time spent with their children and grandchildren.

Arvest Bank Hires Martin as Mortgage Lender in Hot Springs

Arvest Bank is pleased to announce it has hired Racquel Martin as a mortgage lender in Hot Springs.

Martin has more than 20 years of industry experience, and worked for a title company prior to that. She will be based out of the Arvest branch located at 4570 Central Ave. 

In her new role, Martin will serve as a as a decision-making resource for customers, providing guidance to them in an effort to find solutions tailored for their unique needs, among other responsibilities. 

“Racquel has years of great experience when it comes to helping people find their home, and we are so excited to have her on the Arvest team,” said Don Gooch, community bank president for Arvest in Hot Springs. “People seem to think the mortgage process can be daunting and difficult, but we don't want that to be the case. Even before someone begins to look for a new home, Arvest wants to answer any questions that you may have.” 

Martin lives in Hot Springs, where she is a member of the Hot Springs Board of Realtors. She and her husband, Jonathan, have three children.

Arvest Bank Promotes Adkins to Senior Vice President

Arvest Bank is pleased to announce Doug Adkins has been promoted to senior vice president. 

Adkins, also a senior client advisor for Arvest Wealth Management (AWM), previously served as a vice president. In his role as a senior client advisor, Adkins works to create, build, protect, and transition wealth with a select group of high net worth individuals and families, businesses, and nonprofits. He is based out of the Arvest branch in Yukon.

“Doug has been an integral part of our team since 2003, and his most recent promotion is a reflection of that,” said Paul Krus, an AWM regional manager. “He works tirelessly for his clients, and we look forward to his continued success.” 

A native of Lexington, Ky., Adkins lives in Tuttle with his wife, Keli, and their two children. Among other civic endeavors, he serves as a deacon in his church.

Arvest Bank Trust’s Whittaker Receives Industry Appointments

Arvest Wealth Management (AWM) is pleased to recognize Dennis J. Whittaker’s recent appointments involving the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and the Southern Municipal Finance Society. 

Whittaker serves as senior vice president and fixed income portfolio manager for Arvest Bank Trust, a division of Arvest Bank. In that role, Whittaker manages the fixed income portfolios for a book of high-profile client accounts. Additionally, he directs the research function for securities that have credit risk for both client portfolios and the bank’s investment portfolio. 

Whittaker is based in Little Rock, but serves in a support role to AWM’s investment management group, which serves the entire Arvest footprint. He was recently appointed as: 

  • Member of the Board of Directors of the Southern Municipal Finance Society
  • The Chair of the Board of Directors of the Southern Municipal Finance Society
  • Member of the Board of Governors of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts 

The Southern Municipal Finance Society is a constituent society of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts. The latter is a nonprofit industry association with the goals of: 

  • Promoting professionalism in municipal credit analysis,
  • Furthering the skill level of its members through educational programs and industry communication, providing a platform by which analysts can exchange information,
  • Advocating, when appropriate, issues of importance to the municipal finance industry, and
  • Facilitating the flow of information among market participants, especially in terms of better issuer disclosure 

“This is a testament to the knowledge, insight and expertise that Dennis brings to the municipal finance industry,” Arvest Bank Trust president and CEO Donny Rogers said. “We are thrilled to congratulate him on these significant industry achievements.” 

Whittaker, a Chartered Financial Analyst®, earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of Arkansas. He also is a member of the Fixed Income Analysts Society.

Arvest Bank Promotes Israel in Shawnee

Arvest Bank is pleased to announce Kirk Israel has been promoted to senior vice president and senior client advisor for Arvest Wealth Management (AWM). 

Israel, a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor, is based out of the Arvest branch at 201 N. Broadway. His areas of specialization include comprehensive financial planning, retirement planning, asset allocation analysis, and insurance product analysis. 

“Kirk is a fine example of our mission statement, which is ‘People helping people find financial solutions for life,’” said Paul Krus, an AWM regional manager. “This promotion is well-deserved, and I know both Arvest and our customers can look forward to more great things from Kirk.” 

A native of Elk City, Israel lives in Shawnee with his wife, Taylor, and their two children. Among other civic endeavors, he is an active member of Faith Community Church of God.
